When Mrs. McGillicuddy awakes from her nap on the 4:50 from Paddington, she is shocked to see a murder happening on a parallel train. Her lurid description brings about no real response from a doubtful constabulary so she turns to her dear friend, Jane Marple. Jane is sure that her friend is telling the truth and sets about in her busybody way to discover the body. This book has several differences with the television adaptation with Joan Hickson, so expect some changes if you have already watched the video. However the writing is superb and the characters totally engrossing. And a very enjoyable ending!
