One of my favourite synthpop albums from 2014 and a much sharper album over La Roux's 2009 debut. This 9 track album is an absolute treat and I wish we had the privilege for more. I am hearing lots of influence from artists like Depeche Mode, Blondie and 10cc. Definitely got some 80s vibes. This album is just sharp. It hits all the right notes at the right time and the lyrics are great! There is not one bad song here. The standouts for me are 'Uptight Downtown', 'Cruel Sexuality' 'Kiss and Not Tell' and 'Sexotheque'. 'Paradise is You' is slower, but absolutely beautiful. If there is a weak entry hear, it is the last song, but I still think it gets a passing grade.
