There was no doubt that after watching her Nile series, this Greek episodes would be next on my list. Joanna continues to fascinate me - not just the funny better half of the insanely Absolutely Fabulous series but she can also be a serious hostess specially dealing on travel and history. Her countryman, Michael Palin, a host of a myriad travel documentaries, I must admit, I am a great fan as well but I would say there is more depth in the way she formats her show. She makes a short but succinct analyses of what she's feeling at the moment in connection to what she knows of the place, event to what is being shown. I'd say that an honest and a relaistic assessment that I am seeing myself cheering for her, laughing with her or sometimes, pulling a napkin and wiping some tears as she evokes her feelings without a tinge of sympathy - she's just being natural. I eagerly await her next assignment and what could be it? - The Great Siberian Railway? The religious retreat to India? Or possibly a fiesta festival of various Latin American towns and cities. Whatever her whims might catch her fancy, I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy it.
