A sweeping, poetic portrait of Fenimore Cooper's classic from director Michael Mann. The cast was impressive; naturally Day-Lewis and Stowe, but more-so those of indigenous descent. Wes Studi dominates with a menacing presence as the stone cold Magua. The late Russell Means and Eric Schweig... terrific. A wonderful movie.
