Let me begin by admitting that I still enjoy watching reruns of The Bob Newhart Show. I love Bob's sense of humor. In this memoir, Bob discusses his life as a comedian, as well as his early pre-comedy days. He’s from Chicago—yay! He also talks about golf, smoking & drinking, his friendship with Don Rickles, and his fear of flying. He includes some of his bits, which really don’t translate on paper. His dry wit is best appreciated when delivered by Bob himself. Perhaps an audiobook version of this memoir would have been a better choice. Anyway, I did enjoy this light memoir. I only wish that I could have laughed while reading it because Newhart really is a funny man.
