It was a good book, not as exciting and emgaging as some that i've read but it was good, it showed the realitites of being deaf, or how people, kids react to other kids being deaf. Cindy one of the 2 main characters hadn't really been exposed to anyone one deaf, no signing, no hearing aids or flashing doorbells, it was all strange and forgien for her but as she got to knoe meagen (her new, deaf neighbor) she started to learn more and even learn some sign language! Megan the main character is deaf but she reads lips and can hear SOME things, really loud things. She's stubborn and doen't like or really appritiate help even when she needs it. Cindy tries to help her but meagan doesn't welcome it. Meagan learns that she can't do everything since she's deaf. She can't talk on the phone like the rest of her family. She can't hear, she NEEDS help and she has to swallow some of her pride and accept it. Overall it was a good book.
