The CLEVNET Consortium of Libraries owns only 15 copies of Millie’s Book, surprising when one considers that this book's purpose was to raise funds for Barbara Bush's Literacy Campaign… But if you thin you will find this book in the children area of libraries, you are mistaken: it has been cataloged as “Adult,” “Non-Fiction” and even “Politics.” So, there is not doubt politics really influenced the cataloging of this excellent children’s book. Shame on librarians, and a great loss for American children. (Attempts to censor my comments will be fiercely fought under the aegis of American Library Association's beloved principles: Freedom of Speech, Freedom to Read, Intellectual Freedom.)
