Probably my favorite book of all time and I've read a lot. I love the individualized and unique sarcasm and character Zindel put into both John and Lorraine, especially John's overconfidence and sarcastic behaviors. Not cliché or heavy on the romance and the metaphors and literary examples in the book the characters used (especially references to other books/movies/characters) was a highlight of reading somehow. Quite humorous in the beginning but gets darker in the end as both teenagers realize the heavy hand of death and the real world in consequence to their actions.

Zindel's novel is funny, but has many serious moments. It is a story with original characters and a believable, yet unpredictable, storyline.

this book i thought it would a hilarious book but when i read it it was a very sad book with just a little dab of romance

sad but attention seeking, this book demands that it be called a work of art. Nothing compares to litterary art.

Think I read this in high school. It seems so much darker now that I'm an adult. I see WHY we read it in high school, but I'm just not a big fan.
