This, for me, was a return to the magic short story telling of "The Last Wish" plus the added character depth from the long-form novels minus the baffling political machinations.

A hugely enjoyable return to the life and adventures of Geralt, I hope there are more anthology books like this one to come in English!

A compilation of short stories centering around Geralt of Rivia. A man transformed through magic, elixirs and years of training into a Witcher. His mission to travel the world slaying monsters for coin or a meal. There is a Witcher's code, no slaying intelligent or endangered species like Dragons for example. Sapkowski is a truly great writer who creates worlds and characters that you can immerse yourself in. A must read!
