Hmmmm… A little odd and slow. Still an interesting movie. Although, I did always envision the end of the world a little different than how this film described. Maybe a bit more of Christ-descending-to-earth-in-all-his-glory-and-those-who-choose-him-go-to-heaven-and-those-who-don't-suffer-in-hell.

I rate this movie 1 star because it is got a plane crash in it and I do not like air accident films as they upset me as I will be going to Australia by plane in the future!

I think of this more as fantasy fiction, and in that light, it's about on par with a decent TV movie. Not awful, but not anything great either. Just something to pass a little time with. At times it reminded me of The Langoliers TV movie, based on King's book. I would consider watching another in this series, if they make it.

As a side note, I thought that The 4400, The Returned, and The Leftovers tv shows were all considerably better than this, and dealt with the similar idea of people disappearing, but not necessarily in a rapture.

Predictable and sooo boring.

One of the worst movies ever. How could an actor that exceled in Moonstruck lend his talent to this ?

Christian fascists made a decent movie. Somehow they got Nick Cage to do an expense account in Baton Rouge was it? The word rapture was never mentioned except in interviews in the extras. Never mentioned in the film. Is this because these dupes want to replace ‘others’ and don’t want us to know until it’s too late? Paul Lalonde and Tim LaHaye have done several of these films. >>>>> It’s real simple: please do not FORCE others to do what you want. Don’t dominate, exploit, or manipulate. No intentional hurting. We don’t need a rapture to get validation for our prejudices. You’ll never get validation. There is no such thing. >>>>> [Will I be replaced by a pod?]
