While a dive into the inner workings of pharmaceutical companies is a worthwhile, this repeatly wallows into muckracking journalism. Erythropoietin is a very useful drug for patients with renal failure and repeated assertions that it is a poison, the most dangerous medicine marketed etc. are simply not evidence based. What is clear is that the companies encouraged both higher doses and off label uses which is an important lession. The pathetic details of the life of a pharma rep are neither interesting, nor instructive to the larger tale.
