I am sooo jealous of Kate! Vincent is so romantic!! And the description/setting of Paris is beyond amazing!! I could not put this book down. It is definitely a must read.

"Nothing, not even moving to Paris, can lighten Kate’s melancholy over her parents’ recent deaths. Nothing, that is, until she meets gorgeous, enigmatic Vincent, and learns his secret - though he seems human, he’s actually a reanimated, immortal revenant (they prefer you not use the z-word) dedicated to dying over and over again to save the lives of humans. But just as Kate and Vincent’s smouldering romance ignites, it’s threatened by Vincent’s undead enemies. First in a trilogy, the action and drama of this deliciously atmospheric and richly imagined love story continues in Until I Die and If I Should Die." So I picked up this book because I loved the cover… (yeah, yeah, you shouldn’t judge a book by the cover… whatever …) and well the book did not disappoint! It was filled with action and lots and lots of chivalric romance! Definitely a great read for all the women out there… just don’t expect your man to start treating you as well as Vincent treated Kate… although that would be amazing!!

The Paris setting is beyond beautiful, and this paranormal romance is unique and fun to read. A great book for fans of YA paranormal romance and settings that make you drool with envy.

“As we neared the water, I pointed out an antique taxidermy shop. "My mom and I used to always go in there," I said. "It's like a zoo, except all the animals are dead.”

“Jules wants me to tell you that it's a shame you have to fall for someone as boring as myself. He wishes he could take my place and show you how well an older man can treat a lady." He talked back to the air. "Yeah, right, buddy. What are you, like twenty-seven years older than me? Well, at the moment we're both nineteen, so back off.”

“I can't promise you an ordinary experience, Kate. I wish I could transform myself into a normal man and be there for you, always, without the trauma that defines my life as "the walking dead." Since that isn't possible, I can only reassure you that I will do everything in my power to make it up to you. To give you more than a normal boyfriend could.
I have no idea what that will mean, exactly, but I'm looking forward to finding out. With you.”

“Besides the alternate universe offered by a book, the quiet space of a museum was my favorite place to go. My mom said I was an escapist at heart . . . that I preferred imaginary worlds to the real one. It’s true that I’ve always been able to yank myself out of this world and plunge myself into another.”

The first time I had seen the statue in the fountain, I had no idea what Vincent was. Now, when I looked at the ethereal beauty of the two connected figure-the handsome angel, with his hard, darkened features focused on the woman cradled in his outstretched arms, who was all softness and light- I couldn't miss the symbolism. The angel's expression seemed desperate. Obsessed, even. But also tender. As if he was looking to her to save him, and not vice versa. And all of a sudden, Vincent's name for me popped into my mind: mon ange. My angle. I shivered, but not from the cold.

Jeanne had said that meeting me had transformed Vincent. I had given him "new life". But was he expecting me to save his soul?
