First Canadian film I've watched in a long time, and the first that hasn't seriously disappointed in a very long time. Not perfect, but quite well done.
Not an especially original premise, but the film is still fairly interesting and well-acted. But stories about individuals who are estranged from their families returning to their hometowns and eventually making peace with their families and/or old friends there has pretty much been exhausted at this point, IMO. But the film still holds up well enough to be worthy of a look.
interesting peak into Canadian culture.
The story line was a little depressing (troubled family being reunited in mother's illness), but the acting and photography/sets of rural Nova Scotia were great.
The youngest sister and black sheep of the family returns home and forces her family to reconnect and examine their past.
