I recently read this book, which I enjoyed, and thought was pretty good. It had the crazy Texas right-wing billionaire, 60s technology, and the likable Russian general. It also was a book that was made into a Michael Caine movie. So I got the movie and watched it. Fair warning: this isn't his best movie! I don't know whether it was a really bad movie, or a really over-the-top parody. Either way, I don't recommend it. It's not in the same league as the other Harry Palmer movies.
