I love and hate this series. It has all the love and drama that you desire in a book series like this but there is a lot of open ended questions that need to be addressed.
This book is a little slower than the first one, but once you get passed the first few chapters you will fall in love all over again with the characters. This book has a lot more answers than the first one, but then destroys them all it almost two chapters. It is very unpredictable which I love in the supernatural genre, since most supernatural series are super predictable.
This isn't the kind of series where you can just start in the middle, you have to read the first one to fully understand the plot, and after you finish you are probably going to want to read the last one too!

I was surprised by this one, It had a lot of hype in the YA book blogging community, and I actually liked it. In fact I may have to hunt down the first book, too. I wasn't completely convinced about the character motivations, and some parts seemed contrived as a result, but even with this systemic weakness, the story was compelling enough to keep me reading without much grumbling. I did find the magic system very sparse, almost nonexistent, and if the point was that Mara and her friends are just hallucinating, that worked. Otherwise, the supernatural aspect of this story needed more support in the storytelling.

When I first started this, it didn't really catch my attention. This is the kind of book that has an extremely slow start, but then it speeds up later.
There was a point when I just really wanted to stop reading (~pg.50-100), but I didnt. And I was glad.
The ending was amazing. I didnt' expect it AT ALL.
Now, I just HAVE to read the next book.

Slower to start than the first book, but a good ending that helps build for the final book in the series.

I absolutely look this book along with the first book. My favorite character is Noah Shaw because the way the author describes him is so amazing. This book is full of twists and turns. You will not be able to put this book down for anything. If you do not like this book, then I suggest that you really need to rethink your life.

OKAY I NEED BOOK 3 RIGHT NOW MICHELLE HODKIN! YOU CANNOT DO THAT TO US AND MAKE US WAIT LIKE 2 YEARS FOR THE THIRD! Noah is just perfection and I just can't even deal with it. MARA GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER AND HAVE HIS CHILDREN PLEASE. I DONT EVEN CARE IF EITHER OF THEM DIE I JUST WANT THEM TO HAVE SEX AND THEN MICHELLE CAN KILL THEM BOTH.

I am having a REALLY hard time coping. I kept and thinking and thinking and so on.. I really need my NOAH fix. Seriously, I am expecting some thing great in the third book. Or else I ... umm.. I will seriously breakdown. All I think about is this book. All I saying is it better be good.. no.. It should be AMAZING!

I am definitely in love with this series and I can't wait for the third book to come out! I just can't believe about the ending. God! I miss Noah! There are so much mysteries and I am a bit concern about how Michelle Hodkin can answer and explain everything in just a single book. I bet you the next book would be gigantic. I won't complain if it ever is. I just love her books!
