After a one-night stand, Ben Coulter wakes up with a hangover, and blood on his hands. Lying beside him, fatally stabbed, is the body of a woman. A nightmare begins that changes Ben's life forever, as damning evidence emerges to incriminate him in a murder that he has no recollection of committing. While in prison awaiting his trial, Ben must endure terrifying forms of 'justice' from hardcore inmates. Will he survive prison long enough to make it through a trial he has little chance of winning?

Very intriguing drama series: scary, thrilling and great writing story.

Mentioning no titles, but other crime shows only wish they were this good. One problem with Criminal Justice -- finding its audience. Fans of intricate mysteries tend not to like stark realism in their TV, and vice versa for realism fans. Also notable for one of the last appearances of the late, great Pete Postlethwaite as a wise old lag.

Superb and utterly harrowing drama, scarier than any horror or monster film you might ever see.

Terrific story, brilliantly written, directed and acted. Notable is Con O'Neil as Stone.

The trial is excruciating to watch; the arrogance and incompetence on display are gut-wrenching. As are the prison scenes with the deep and pervasive corruption and violence - from prisoners and prison staff alike.

Anyone who still believes that the "justice" system is always "just" should see this film.

Really enjoyed this series. Ben Whishaw is outstanding, as is the rest of the cast. Kept me questioning his guilt/innocence up until the very last disc which is an absolute joy. If you enjoy criminal justice shows, you'll enjoy this one.
