I saw the movie Deep Water Horizon and wanted to know more.
This book outlines what happened on the rig in 2010 to create the worst oil spill in US history but get ready to read a lot of details from the conception and building of the rig in South Korea to its relocation in the gulf Southeast of Houston and the process of well drilling on the ocean floor. This is a book you have to pay attention to..not an easy read. Heavy on processes and detail.
The story of the actual explosion and final hours of the Horizon is near the end of the book. Chilling to read. One of the things I found in the book that was not in the movie is why the (rescue) ship The Damon Bankston was on site the night of the explosion.
