This series is so. good. Hilary McKay strikes the perfect balance between being funny (so funny!) and heartwarming -- you'll finish this book wishing that you could be adopted by the Casson family (though perhaps not at mealtimes). Highly, highly recommended.

I would guess I'm hardly unique when I say I love the Casson family. Saffy's Angel surprised and delighted me, and this follow-up improves on it, if anything. Quirky, loving, artistic, and genuine characters with great family dynamics. I'm immediately putting a hold on the next one.

“You can't be disgusting to people just because they annoy you!" she exclaimed very crossly. "Thousands of people annoy me! Millions of people annoy millions of people all the time! . . . You have to put up with them.”

A funny, great novel, with an entertaining family, unlike anyone else's. Hilary McKay has done an amazing series.
