An adventurous read with so many secrets and mysteries and suspicions. That's a genre I've never really explored before, and I'm glad this book was my first. Although I didn't really like the writing style, I still found the way the…

This classics-inspired fiction was tons of fun! I’m a Holmes fan, but not a super fan of Doyle's mysteries by any means. I've read Doyle's original tales up to The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes, but not past his original character's death,…

Well-written with very complicated characters who have intricately detailed and ultimately sad back stories. Lots of evil people, not many nice ones. Sometimes hard to read what they go through.

The teenaged great-great-great grandchildren of Holmes and Watson, Charlotte Holmes and Jamie Watson, reluctantly team up to figure out who is trying to frame them for murders which are based on classic Sherlock Holmes' tales.

I was excited to finally get this book after a long time on the waiting list. I am now very disappointed. The premise for this story sounds very engaging and fun, connecting two historical figures, in future generations to tackle another…

Everyone knows the epic duo Watson and Holmes. But in A Study in Charlotte we get to meet their descendants, Jamie and Charlotte, who happen upon one another at a Connecticut boarding school. Unfortunately, they don’t get a chance to break…

I was so excited to read this book but it wasn’t what I thought. I only got to read a little bit before I stopped. The F word was in there three times just at the beginning of the book.

The book "A Study In Charlotte" is about the great great grandson and granddaughter of the famous pair, Sherlock Holmes and James Watson. In this spin off the two, Charlotte Holmes and Jamie Watson, meet at school the night before they are…

As an avid Sherlock Holmes enthusiast I am normally unsure of new Holmes character spin offs. Yet this book about a similar Holmesian character, definitely lives up to the hype. It takes some the elements of the old stories, adding new…

A Study in Charlotte, the next generation of epic Holmes and Watson adventures with a side of well loved YA style romantic pining. The case of the Sherringford murder was just what any good mystery should be. It was thrilling and I…

I was intrigued by this twist on the classic Sherlock Holmes novels. I found Charlotte rather irritating, though, and you really have to suspend your disbelief in order for the plot, and Charlotte and Jamie's detective skills, to seem…

The story itself follows a modern version of the Sherlock Holmes and John Watson readers know through their descendants Charlotte and James. While this novel was entertaining to read, it was a little dry. The original characters were…

Great story! I'm not a super big mystery reader, so it has to be a good one to keep my interest. The characters are well-drawn and the backstory of being Sherlock and Watson descendants makes this book both unique and familiar.

Teen mystery fans will enjoy this modern extension of the Sherlock Holmes universe.

This was a fun story and a quick read, with plenty of hat tips to Arthur Conan Doyle's original works (as expected). The basic premise is: Doyle's writings were not fictional but (somewhat inflated) biographical. Sherlock Holmes and Dr.…

I have mixed feelings on this book. I almost really liked it, but some parts were a struggle and overall it felt really forced. I think it was too much like a classic Sherlock Holmes story and wasn't original enough. I'd probably like…

Very good, 10/10 would recommend. If you liked Sherlock(the TV series) you will probably like this as well. Probably best for people over 13 who are OK with some language. I really liked the characters. I thought that they were well…

My 11 year old daughter checked this out, randomly turned to page 15 and found the "f" word and the "a" word. All I could tell her was that I suppose the author has a lack of imagination.

I didn't really enjoy the book as a whole very much. It kind of kept lagging on and on, and there weren't enough action scenes to keep me entertained. Also, the vocabulary was pretty advanced.

Absolutely a wonderful read for anyone who loves Sherlock Holmes mysteries. This one is geared towards teens and young adults due to some mature subject matter. The twist here is that Holmes is Charlotte Holmes and Watson is Jamie…

I listened to this as an audiobook (Hoopla) and enjoyed every aspect of it; the throwbacks to the originals, the incorporation of heavy teen issues and the relationship between Charlotte and Watson. The only downside was that Watson's…

It's refreshing to see a female personification of Sherlock Holmes in Charlotte, and Jamie Watson is charming in his own right. There are plenty of references to the original stories, and naturally they are descendants of the famous duo,…

I was disappointed in this from the start. I didn't like the premise that they were descendants of the characters. I struggled with the mystery. I couldn't care for the characters they way I wanted to. Sherlock gets away with being an ass…

I LOOOVED this. I can't wait to dig deeper into these characters (especially August and Mycroft *swoon*). This is a great spin of the classic, with so many awesomely subtle additions of Sherlock Holmes' more less-known personality…
