After the Garden by Jeremy Robinson: New Play Reading

12:00 PM – 2:45 PM
Downtown Branch

Description

Presented by the Red Deer Players Society.

Come witness a live staged reading of a brand new play, enjoy complimentary hot beverages, and stay afterwards for an enlightening conversation with the playwright to share your honest impressions as a debut audience member.

After the Garden concerns a Youth Pastor named Ryan as he navigates his way through his new position at a bustling new Mega-Church. His presence ends up influencing the lives of a young girl and her domineering mother in ways he did not expect. His actions then come into conflict with that of the head Pastor, who uses religion to satisfy his own agenda. These events ultimately provoke Ryan to face his own dark past, which leads him to question if his faith will be enough to save him.

Jeremy Robinson lives in Red Deer Alberta. He has finished one other full length play entitled "The Girl Who Didn't Know Too Much" which received a staged reading from Against the Wall theatre. He also garnered an AMPIA screenwriting nomination for his script "Good Morning." Jeremy has been awarded for multiple flash fiction stories, and was a prominent writer and performer at Bull Skit Comedy for over ten years. He is currently Artistic Producer for Central Alberta Theatre.
